On 2nd June 2006, a group of us gathered together at Burway Garage for ‘Garage Praise’.
For those of you that have seen the advert but haven’t braved it or been able to come down, we thought we would share a little of what we do and how it came about.
We had a unanimous decision to form 2 house groups from the one we had. We all felt that with the majority being mature Christians we needed to divide to grow. We felt that it was important to ‘touch base’ occasionally to see how each group was fairing. Numbers had increased so much in both groups that we felt that ‘getting together’ would be difficult, hence the use of Burway Garage for a venue.
A ‘bring & share’ always works well so we ate well, sang some worship songs & enjoyed fellowship together. Due to the success of that night, a new idea was born.
As a house group we have a passion for outreach within the local community. We feel that there are many ways to worship Jesus, and with a varied skill mix within the group this is one way that we could challenge both areas.
Garage Praise attracts a wide variety of ages and goes across the denominations. We are particularly blessed with a good number of young people from our own church family and from further afield. With God’s grace, we continue to grow and develop. We have refreshments, great fellowship, worship and sense a real presence of God’s Spirit with us. We also have bible verses, short videos with a Christian message, testimonies, drama and ‘guest speakers’. We also enjoy delicious barbeques in the summer!
We had branched out and been meeting in the Church Stretton School hall which proved a great success. However, due to popular demand we are now back in the garage. Who knows where the future will lead us but God’s plans are very exciting!!!
We would value your support by praying for us, telling others and paying us a visit sometime.
All meetings are at Burway Garage, from 7.30pm, unless stated otherwise.
