What is a Life Group?

Stretton Parish Life Groups offer comfortable and safe spaces to explore further what it means to follow God and ‘make Jesus known’. They complement our church services and personal study as we look to grow spiritually, both as individuals and as community.

Membership of a Life Group is an opportunity to:

  • deepen your relationship with God and strengthen relationships with other believers as we journey to grow closer to God.

  • encourage individuals and groups to make Jesus known to our community as we share our faith story.

  • challenge and enable individuals and groups to active service, whether in church, in the community, or towards each other.

What do they do?

  • Small groups of 6-16 believers meet for fellowship, study, discussion, mutual support, prayer:

    • Individuality between groups is encouraged as they work to support our shared Parish vision, mission, and governance.

    • Some groups plan other shared activities, both social, and in support of church and community events.

    • Groups offer a first port of call for mutual practical, social, and pastoral support of members outside of meetings.

When and where do they meet?

  • Groups meet in member’s homes, the Parish Centre or on-line, either weekly or fortnightly for one to two hours.

  • Individual groups meet on different days and at various times of day.

Who are they for?

  • While primarily for anyone wanting to further explore their faith in Jesus, we welcome those genuinely exploring the possibility of faith for themselves:

    • Many may find it best to complete an Alpha Groups before joining a Life Group:

      • Alpha groups offer a comfortable and safe space to explore what it means to have faith in God.

How do I join a Life Group?

  • If you want to know more, please speak to the Life Groups Facilitator, Caroline Windley, or contact her by email.

  • Our Life Groups are not static, they are constantly changing and from time to time we find that we need to consider creating a new group. If you would be interested in facilitating a new or existing Life Group, please contact Caroline for an initial no-obligation conversation.

Our life groups are the life blood of the church, where we build community, share our lives and learn more of God’s love together.
